KINE P403

Theory and Practice of Cardio Exercise

Course Reflections and Experience

KINE-P403 was a course  I had taken that required me to learn about the function and benefits of cardio respiratory exercise. One of the main things that I had learned was the necessity of one's heart health as it can be used to determine ones overall health. I had personally lacked a lot of experience in the area of cardio fitness as I usually focus on resistance training. However, this class showed me I lacked a lot of cardio respiratory health as I was instructed to lead a fitness class on exercise bikes. It was a great moment of learning for me, both in discovering my lack of cardio training as well as a moment to develop my instructing skills. As the fitness class I was leading went on, I made accommodations to ensure I wouldn't get too winded during the course as well as to encourage the class to go a pace as close to mine, or harder if they felt. After the class had ended, I spent my time reflecting on my own health and began training more based off of what I had learned in class. By adding what I had learned into my own personal training, I have more hands on experience with how to train myself and others in cardio fitness.
